Hurlstone Park Reserve, snagged by the club back in 1924, was the original stomping ground where club volunteers took on the grassroots task of mowing and marking out the pitch. It was pretty basic back then; the Council would pop in four stakes at each corner, and the club would get down to business with lime to mark the field.
This patch of green was later christened Ewen Park, tipping its hat to a notable local, the Canterbury mayor. Before a major glow-up in 1969 raised the fields to riverbank level, it was all about the “flats.” Fast forward a bit, and Beaman Park joined the club scene in the 2000s, but Ewen Park? It’s still the heart of the action, the place where it all goes down.
