Open Letter from CDSFA Board to players, team officials and spectators
We are circulating an open letter from the Board of the Canterbury District Soccer Football Association, for distribution to all our members.
The letter covers three key issues:
- Behaviour and Respect to all involved in the game – as a club HPWFC expects every member of our club to treat all involved in the game with respect at all times. We do not tolerate discrimination in any form;
- Eligibility issues – there are rules that determine eligibility of players to play in particular teams – we understand that these are complex and mistakes can be made, but please make sure that you check with the club before borrowing players;
- Red cards – As a club we want to minimise our red cards this season. Very few red cards are the result of genuine mistakes. Most relate to foul play, inappropriate language or dissent to referees. All such behaviour is unacceptable.
We aim to set the highest standards in terms of behaviour and therefore we expect that all our parents, supporters, players and officials understand and commit to the respective codes of conduct which you have agreed to abide by when registering yourself or your child to play with the club.
Our club has a strong history of fair play, and we want to ensure that that record continues in 2019. We ask you to help with that record by ensuring that you abide by the respective codes of conduct at all training and games.
